Earl Township is a second-class township that is governed by a board of three Supervisors. The Supervisors are elected by the residents for a six-year term. The terms are staggered so that every two years a Supervisor is up for election. The Board of Supervisors is the governing body for the Township.

The Township Supervisors are “charged with the general governance of the Township and the execution of legislative, executive and administrative powers in order to ensure sound fiscal management and to secure the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Township.” *
